Default Trying to buy a new falcon ute

I was looking at buying a new falcon ute and seeing what options are available. i said the 3 seat option would be good. but the auto is the only option with it. i said i could not bring my self to buy a $30000 plus. 2008 ute, that the steering wheel could not be positioned. the dealer said i was the first ever, to complain about it. he got on his high horse about it all. i said how can one get in contact with ford, to express there opinion about these things. he said you buy the car. then you can fill out the form that comes out about 3 months later. dam mongrel. i believe ford are loosing sales on this. if only i could get away with running a business like this. and that is the 5th time, in 14 years i have gone in to try to buy a ford, and walked out totally pissed off. my last falcon ute was a XG and the dealer was excellent. the last 3 holden dealers were excellent to.
DO YOU THINK A CRAP TAXI TYPE STEERING IS ACCEPTABLE.

Sounds like crap customer service to me, i would walk out of there without buying anything too after giving the salesperson a lesson in customer relations i reckon. By the sounds of it, the bloke would be hard pressed selling heaters to eskimos.

but seriously, the wheel aint adjustable? is that on 3 seater only or what?
ford seem to have something wrong in their salesman training program.

The salesguy sounds like a ****, I'd write a letter to ford about it.

As jason asked, I thought these were adjustable on all models? Is it all the utes that they're not?

The three seat ute has a column-shift auto. I'm guessing that's why they don't have the adjustable steering column. That said, most reviews I've read of the FG in general have complained that the adjustment available is tilt only, no reach adjustment.

As for poor service, I think Ford really need to give their dealers a shake up. My local dealer has done nothing but try to suck more money out of me since I bought my XR8 ute. They wanted $100 to flush the radiator coolant for example, don't think so! They also operate in a run-down shed that should've been replaced in the 80s (and probably again by now), and aren't willing to do a decent deal.

On the other hand, there's Ford dealers around that are basically the exact opposite, such as Central Ford in Kilmore and Morley Ford in Echuca. Ford should crack down and get the other dealers to similar levels of presentation and service, or pull the plug on their contracts.

On all the other falcon ute models it's fine, their just like the sedan's. but for the 3 seat model it's the same type of steering as a XA falcon.
And you can only get a 3 seat option, in the base model.
Looking at all my options, He said if i wanted a XR 6. with a alloy tray back. i could not option it, with a alloy tray. i would have to take off the style side my self. and put it in the back yard. until i wanted to sell it. then put it back on. because he says no one would want a XR 6 OR 8 with a tray.

WTF!!!
talk about sales techniques - what a toss, time for a letter to the manager of the dealership.

Now that's just bullshit, the alloy tray XR6 is a standard model offered from the factory. There's one I see getting around here, it looks great. You can configure it that way on the Ford.com.au website, then send your configuration to dealers and see which will give you the best deal.
