and just what exactly does the winning "idiot" get for his hard earned? a set of genuine hk gts 327 id tags that are in effect useless to any car other than the rusted heapa he has just purchased. would it not be called rebirthing for someone to put the tags on another car? seems an awful waste of money for something that can only sit on your mantle.

meh.. just another rusty gts. its still got its tags, and good sills/firewall/floor thanks to what looks like being on its roof for a long time.

dont count it out as unrepairable just yet. :|

I guess it is if you have a HK monaro shell in good nick. All they would do is swap the tags and numbers to that and sell it for $100 000.

On its own it does seem silly, but if one were to assume that the asking price for a genuine car in good condition was $200K then you could get this for $20K and still spend $180K on a ground up rebuild using as much genuine as possible before costing as much as a complete car. And a complete car may not even be available to buy. So it may make sense to a collector or enthusiast with deep pockets.

Disclaimer - I pulled those numbers out of thin air, nothing to back them up

It would be a numbers matching cause you cut the numbers and tags off that shell and put them on yours !!!!
How many GT falcons have turned up lately..... you can bet half are rebirths from wrecks
