Default Vnss355

Hi all just some pics of my 1990 VNSS stroker...
The motor is currently in for its tune and I would be upset if it doesnt make 500hp+...
Specs are: VN304 block, bored, torque plate honed, clearanced for 355 crank, COME 355 crank, Scat h-beam rods, pavtek stud girdle, Hi-energy sump... Crane288 came, VN cast heads CNC ported flowing 580hp 2.050in 1.65ex, Yella terra platnium roller rockers, Thats just off the top of my head.. Will put updates up as the come along.... Oh and this has all been happening (waiting) for last 18 mounths!!

The commy sounds good, LASTND.

I'd like to see the results, but I'm sceptical about 500 ponies from that.
I'd like to see it, because I have the same capacity and cam for my old bitch. Let's see what heads and injection do.

unfortunately, the old VE sedans were never really sought after. Why would you when the hardtop was so horny?

but, yes. it is a crying shame to see anything like that cut up

Oh I forgot a few other things in the 304 like: SRP forged pistons 10.8:1 comp, the rockers are 1.65:1 ratio, IGNITION: MSD6AL, blaster3 coil, 10mm leads, standard tuned delco...

I lost the drive there for a while.... Its hard when you carnt do anything but wait and man im getting good at it!! Until the weekend just gone when we went out and melted some tires and suffered a little fire....

Portland in south west vic had a burn out comp and VANTASY came down only did 1 skid and took home the cash.. But the main thing is im motivated again even though i was driving a VL RB30 powered wagon (with a welded diff thanks SCULLY) it still gets the adrenalin going!!!!!!

To the farm this weekend to put a new diff in the BOM and put the VAL on the rotisory! and getting it all cleaned up, rust free and straight!!

(look out for the white crapy wagon)

Well last thursday the motor finaly got a decent run on the engine dyno but after a little fiddeling only mad 340hp with a drop in torque at 4400rpm but picked up and was fine up to 6000rpm! After more playin and sorting out correct leads and going over the dissy that was advancing to early she racked up 400hp!

Its coming back to the size of the runners on my manifold (not big enough) but the dyno man wants to have more of a play befour we go and put a torque power s/p and 1000cfm! So there might be a hole being cut in the bonnet....

Been a while!! Got some new gear last thursday in the way of a Harrop hi rise single plane and EFI hardware 1000cfm throttle body and to top it off and now hang out the bonnet (second bonnet keep the original 1 with no hole) a 9"x5" K&N air cleaner stainless top for show X-tream for go... running it over to the tuner 2moz night hopefully!! Bought all this as it struggled to make 400fwhp my tt manifold wasnt any good but at least i tryed!

Sounds like a very tuff motor, how much rear wheel horsepower are you expecting with the different manifold?

Nice Car too!

well im hopein for around 280-300rwkw 375-400rwhp. Or around 480-500fwhp. The ferther i go now the more its getting away from the origanal plane but that wat happens to all of us rite?? Im aiming to run a low 11sec 1/4 then add some nos as the motor was build for it from day 1 and see how far into the tens i can get...

Then when i realised i need some more gear it was all sorted monday and in the mail from melb to hamilton and arrived this morning to my shock!!!!
