Default My New Beast...

Hi Everyone,

This is sort of a Journal for me to log my days with the pride and joy, im newish to these forums so go easy on me

As much as i am a Holden man i can still appreciate the Decent Fords out there, im just glad there Aussie and V8....with the exception of the phoon..

the car is a NL Fairlane 5ltr , it was my brothers (the best bloke around) which is who i bought it off, it has been looked after very well, mods i know of are

*Yella Terra Roller Rockers
*bigger Throttle body (75mm)
*bigger MAF to suit bigger throttle body
*2x extra Earth Straps, Like the Hot Earth (not sure if it was that exact brand)
*2 1/2 " exhaust from the collector back (looks to be but could be 2 1/4 " need to check)
*18 " chrome mags
*nolathane bushes all round
*DBA Gold Rotor's all corners
*modded air box to allow more airflow
*K&N Air Filter
*personalized plates
*Fiberglass Wrap on Header's and top hose (does the job very well)
*2 9" LCD screens in the back of the front headrest's
*Factory Speakers Swapped With Fusion Item's

These are all i can think of now, but ill add anymore if i think of them, there are a few more things going into the car soon like

*New sterio/DVD player (might be a little while for this)
*10 inch sub and a 600w amp to complement the factory sub/amp

Here is some pics of her

Hmm none taken, personally i don't love them but i do like them at different angles and i think it fits the car (could be bigger though) , but as you said each to there own and if you wanna put different mags on your car (ive never been a fan of cromie's ) its nothing to do with me, your personality and your car....

plus there is the sentimental side, my brother had this car first and it reminds me of him all the time, i wouldn't change it for just that...

Thanks fellas , appreciate the compliment's , it's no where near the fastest out there or even the coolest out there, but it's a V8 and it makes me smile so i love it.. some (Former now lol) mates of mine told me to "just get a turbo Lancer or WRX" but they don't have anywhere near the appeal to me as this car does, or Most bent 8's for that matter, im an Aussie so i like good ole Aussie muscle (not that it's really much of a "Muscle" car, more of a cruiser with grunt) , ricer's to me are more for 15-18 yr old kids that are into the "Metro sexual" side of life....

it has a small dent in the boot that is going to be fixed very soon, nothing major just annoying ya know....

i was thinking of maybe of some lowered springs but then again ive never really been a fan of slammed car's, too much to worry about for me , looks cool and everything just not for me i guess...

Thanks holden guys for understanding ! im really a holden bloke but to me at least it's aussie and V8...hehe

Thanks Everyone you have all been very welcoming!

Not all 15-18 yr old kids are into ricers! I'm now 17 and can't stand them. Everyone at work has a Supra or a WRX or a R33! GO AUSSIE MUSCLE

BTW Welcome to Aussie V8! Very nice car you have there!

i am also 17 (well very very soon...) and cant really stand them either, for some reason's (still not enough reason for me mind you) i can see why people would drive them , but you get the ignorant know it all wanker that comes along and says "my supra would beat that 800 hp V8...." and i just shake my head and laugh....

you tube is the absolute worst for that.....

even still i don't really care because im having fun driving my car and there having a cry and messaging there friends about how jealous they are....and how there hair looks...

i love when they use the "V8's are gas guzzlers" excuse , firstly my fairlane gets around 600-650 k's a tank (bout 70 liter's) city driving or "spirited" highway driving, and i reckon with decent premium and a octane booster additive it would probably get maybe 700 + highway if it was set at 100 on cruise and i didn't have to overtake or anything etc.. so basically im getting a comfortable plush ride with climate control and comfy stylish interior ,great handling and road feel with dual airbags and plenty of safety feature's like ABS etc.. and heaps of "PEP" with a great sound along with being a all round stylish car, all for an extra 20 litre's of fuel per fill compared to my CA lancer 4 cyl that served its purpose but had none of the above feature's, so for like $30 maximum a fill (premium fuel) im getting a way better car with more feature's and legroom that does not make me look gay to drive and way more comfortable... its definitely worth it for me....

and the funny thing is that a WRX standard form will use more fuel anyway then my car ever could... i guess the old saying is true "you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink..."

thanks for the very friendly welcome, you bloke's here at Aussie V8 sure are looking after a fella!

and the reason your not into ricer's is probably because your not into the "metro sexual" side of life....

what happened to Aussie kids?
