Post Air filter for IMPCO LPG carby

Hi fellas. Im just wondering if anyone knows if there are different syle air filter setups that can be used on IMPCO 425 carbs. Ive got one on 308 and the air filter is a small round but thick thing. See pic. Just want to know if there are any other options out there. VAN454 i thought you might know as you've played with IMPCO carbs before on your big block.
Cheers

I have a custom setup(it's not much to look at ) because I am running twin mixers. Mine is an oval filter element from a GQ Nissan Patrol with sheet metal base and lid. Just go and buy a 14inch chrome filter with the tallest element you can fit under your bonnet (or through if you like) That's what I ran when I had the 308 with a single 425 in the van.

Default Best air filter for LPG

Best air filter for LPG Ive found on the Dyno, was standard 14 :inch round with a 50 /75 or 100 mm Unifilter oiled foam but be careful of all air filters as your old impco mixer things are pretty sensitive to getting a restriction signal to operate the converter.Sometimes thats why those little air filters work well with negative idle systems.

just a bit of an update. I got a 14" round chrome air cleaner off ebay for 30 bucks. Managed to squeeze a 4" element under the hood with no mods.

@400HP what are those oiled uni's worth??

Hi 400, i went to the uni filter site and it said 80-odd bucks. A price hick maybe??
I hadtrouble with pics too. You have to have the pics online some where. I used photobucket.com. Then you use the insert URL icon and paste the address of where your pic is. It took me a while to nut it out. You'll get there

Default new straight LPG system uses 14" 75mm unifilter

The choice of air filters for straight LPG systems is dependant on the type of idle system and economy valve relationship. Positive idle systems, those that supply gas whether the engine is supplying a Vacuum signal or not,or Negative systems that rely on vacuum signal. So many variations dependent on your converter/mixer choice, have your AFR checked at idle, cruise and WOT
