nice free flowing exhaust always kills a bit of lag, i found with my old skyline, i advanced my exhaust cam a whole shitload and it dropped about 400rpm from my lag, other than that, go a smaller turbo,

few things will reduce turbo lag, trim sizes, camm shaft, also trying to keep more heat in the exhuat will help as well.

    Im no turbo expert though

that heat wrap stuff, shorter manifold pipes (no less than 6 inches tho), really good or no intercooler. With the manifold think of a garden hose. A smaller dia will increase speed therfore spooling quicker BUT you may lose top end. Larger dia and ya get the reverse.
Plenum size will also vary it a bit too, The lag isn't alwayse determined by the exhaust side.

It might also depend if your manifold is split pulse or direct but that is more for redusing surging.

    Flow is your friend.

go a big stall convertor if its an auto. its a strip car after all, so it would probably have a big stall after all.

This is going pretty radical but you can put a sparkplug into the turbo housing and in turn this ignites unburnt fuel which helps start the turbo spinning earlier which reduces lag. I myself know nothing about turbo's but I know a lot of rally cars use it and it's also part of eddie tissones secret to his huge HP from his VH twin turbo. There is a bloke in melbourne that builds rally cars and also helped tissone, it was all in a car mag a couple of year ago with his name and full explenation maybe someone still has the mag or knows who it is?

On a 6 litre V8 if you have lag then you have seriously mismatched the turbo or are aiming for one wild horsepower number. SIX litres should easily see positive pressure by 1500rpm and full boost by 3000rpm while still making some hefty numbers. All this fancy shmancy anti lag/boost spiking etc shouldnt be needed unless you're tassone.

Any more info on your combo? What you write is pretty vague.

spot on, 2 T4s will spool around 3000 rpm and the T3 will spool about 2200 - 2500. so if ya go the T3/4 you get the best of both worlds.
