I'd recommend the 6al-2 and blaster 3 coil. Check out summit racing, you can save a bit ordering from the US

Nah mate, only the distributor is unique to Holden, the rest of the gear is universal.

don't mean to be a pain but is there much difference between the 6al and the 6al-2

the 6al2 has an adjustable 2 step rev limiter (one high rev limiter, one lower rev limit when a switch is activated eg. transbrake etc)
the 6al only has a high rev limit, that I believe can only be changed by changing a pill in the unit, eg, having 1 chip for a 6700 rpm rev limit, having to change the chip to a 6800 rpm chip for a higher rev limit.

The 6al-2 has 2 step rev limiter, boost retard function, Nitrous retard, maybe a few more extra features. I went for the 6al-2 programmable unit. That way you can do away with mechanical advance in your distributor, just lock it out at full timing then use the 6al-2 to pull however much timing you want. This feature alone was easily worth the extra money over the 6al IMO.
