Engine Shops Perth
Hey guys, I'd like some feedback on engine builders in Perth. I have a 308 which I'd like to freshen up and don't know much about the history of the shops in perth. I have done some research and have found the following places
Southside engines
Thunder performance
308 performance centre
A1 hiperformance
faraone
SCM
Express race engines
My 308 is going into a HQ Tonner which will primarily be used for cruising, but I'm keen to stoke it to 355 and get some power out of it.
Does anyone have recommendations of where to go and where not to go?

yea for sure mate they were all good in there hey day and have good experances and bad well thunder are no longer in a shop as jodi could not afford the hollywood life style and money run out but i hear he still does stuff from a smaller shed possibly from home
i havent herd anything from 308 in ages last i herd they sort of went broke but maybee frank still does stuff the shop is always closed and never answeres his fone and im sure some went to start warbuilt but the late great man passed on from there rip ap
witch leaves you with a1,faraone,scm,express a1 is always great to deal with never had anything done by farone but always see him tune big power cars scm well they can trully build a 355 thats for sure there young fellers are doing well in the vl a few seasnons ago and and they can build aqny engine and are perticular to detail south sides always come recomended never let me down on machining
i have never herd of express so cant comment
there are a few others as well perf unlimited mario is a great engine builder does more fords than anything else if you can get hold of jason from csc he does a good job as well

I had an estimate from Southside when I was thinking of doing up the 253. If you get a quote from them, make sure your sitting down. That goes for a lot of them over this side though. By all accounts they do good work but.

Yeah Southside seem to get a good wrap from most people. Anybody know much about 308 performance centre? Are they not around anymore?

I went and got quotes from a few of the above, I dropped a few comments that I was getting other quotes and who they were from and they all started bagging each others work.
So I've ended up getting TK to build me a motor instead, must admit I'm more comfortable with dealing with him.

Maybe there's not enough work to go around, you'd think though with the mining boom that there would be plenty of guy's doing mods to their cars over here.
Anyway curtosy of sites like these we can get more info on shops from the east as well.

paul builds A killer holden V8 And is the Only man I Trust with My Motors & Tuning
Paul provides a high qaulity of service, including a back up service (which is hard to find these days) when the car needs another tune up! Paul has built many killer holden 8s, but is also very good at building useable & streetable HP & is the man to talk to about building your next motor.
Cheers,
