Factory banana manifold cut up and altered.

I wouldn't run one. Get something with a decent reputation.

Looks crap. The intake manifold is the restriction here. I can't see this being any better than a standard carb-style EFI throttle plate.

Whats the facsination with twin throttles?

All they do is meter airflow, its not like a carby where they atomise fuel or anything. By doubling the throttle surface, all you're doing is halving the pedal's affective throw distance.

Nothing wrong with a good 4 barrel throttle body and decent intake simple and effective.
Some shocking setups around, Those 2 in the links are terrible.
Not a fan of the active hats either.

When you think about it, no car manufacturer (whether it be a V8 Commodore or a Ferrari) uses a 4bl throttle body
They always use either a single throttle body or multiple throttle bodies.
Still one of the best Holden V8 intakes is the Grp A TTB manifold.

So I guess there has to be some sort of merit in the design

The main reason aftermarket manufacturers are focusing on 4bl setups is purely cost of production. They can build one manifold to suit carby and EFI

No, have a look what is inside a Group A manifold. The Throttles are not what makes them work well....

Yep, and you know as well as I, that the effectiveness in the design has little to do with the number of throttles the manifold uses. Much more to do with the internal design of the manifold and the ability to fill the intake ports efficiently.

Which is exactly what none of these other bullshit manifolds address.
