Default Diff for One tonner 253

Hey... just got handed news that the diff in my holden hz one tonner is rooted... and the quote for a new one is $700 (its a salisbury one tonner i've been told, the sedans diff doesn't fit it?)... my question... anyone know where i can get one for less? or is that about right? and if not, is it worth putting a different diff in it (the one thats on it is hard to find apparantly) - anything that'll bolt straight on, or have little to change to fit?

thanks in advance for any advice...
