Default LPG problems new stromberg

Just had my carby reco'd and boy is it running fantastic on petrol.

On the other hand the LPG is running terrible. Virtually misfiring and revs drop as the accelerator is pressed when moving off at the lights. Sounds like it is under extreme load. Anyone have any ideas?

Does the LPG need retuning to the new carby and air filter? Something I am missing?

thanking you in advance

sounds like the gas hat is not sealed to the carb or sim problem.

I did think that but at high revs it is fine or when cruising at 80km/h or 100 so there seems to be plenty of gas supply

Is your petrol circuit turning off fully when you change to Gas ?
Still ,dual fuel setups are a pain in the arse, for your particular problem Ill have to rub the Crystal ball real hard . Let me Guess, your running a 300A mixer with a impco L convertor . Check the cable is actually opening the divertor on the snorkel.

nope actually a spring gas setup no snorkel. Like a donut thing on top of the carby

The petrol circuit is a good question as the problem is very similar to when before I had the carby done pro, when I switched over from petrol to gas it would temporarily just not move even with foot flat until I assumed it burned out the rest of the fuel in the carb which I thought it was supposed to do when the switch is halfway anyway.

How do you check the petrol circuit?

You dont want much do ya, first you make us guess what system you got ,then you say its one of those sprintgas hat jobs , take it to your local Sprintgas wally .and be ripped !!!!

I've recently picked up a WB ute. Blue 253. It has a dual fuel setup at the moment. The LPG side is a Sprint Gas hat job.

I don't know a great deal about LPG systems.

It runs sweet at the moment. Cold start no problem. Hot start no problem. Runs great.

Was just wondering what the problem is with Sprint Gas hat jobs and whether I need to fix something that aint broke at the moment?

Just an update, car is running sweet as. Got the car on an analyser, mixture was leaned right off and the car is economical as anything and has as much power on LPG as it does on fuel so happy smiles all around.

I have heard the sprint gas hat jobs are a real pain to get tuned properly. I don't have an issue with mine, I love it but given a choice I would of gone for an impco or even a venturi?? which I have heard great things about

If you got it tuned and it stays that way , then be happy , if it runs ok be happy , dual fuel stuff doesnt stay in tune for long so if aint broke then dont touch it . If using OMVL convertors with your sprintgas hats check the secondary diaphragm for leaks due to be eaten out by those nasty particulates .

Even though I have no problems starting the car on LPG I am getting into the habbit of switching off on petrol, then running the car on petrol in the mornings just to keep the carby functioning and hopefully retain the petrol side of things in tune. Only problem I have found while starting on petrol is the car actually stalls when i start the car? It is like it has no petrol, runs off the choke for about 3 secounds, then revs drop down like it has no fuel then cuts out, starts up instantly and doesn't do it again. Only the initial start up in the mornings.

LPG side is going to be touch wood, always has and seems to vary largely on the air filters condition.
