mine's a auto and it does the same ever since i did a little grass event (by accident)
it's revs wont stabilize ,it's also doing a brake booster prob where after not driving it for
a week as soon as u hit the brakes the pedel sinks and it take a few hard stops to get
it normal so i'll be looking at the vacuum side of things 1st and see how i go,

try the fuel pressure regulator, my V6 on petrol does the same thing. surges and carries on like a 3 legged dog. block of the return line to bring up the fuel pressure for a bit and give it a rev. if it runs smooth after that has been done, it has shit in it and probably needs a new fuel filter. hope that helps

mine still goes way over the speed limit without any probs like surges and splutters ,
and the temp stay just under half ,so i'm shying away from vac and going to check the
tps as soon as i work out how to check it , i have a multimeter but lack any knowledge
but i'm not ruling out a vac drama just looking at more things that could be wrong

under neath throttle body just behind butterfly, there is black oval wiring plug three wires going into it,that wear stepper motor is,held in with two little screws, remove it clean with petrol or carby cleaner, you may have to take throttle body off first, only two 13 mm nuts

With the key switched on you should have 0 to 0.9v at closed throttle, and 4.9v at wide open throttle.

Black with yellow stripe is earth (Via ECM).
Grey is 5volt supply (from ECM).
Blue is the wire that should have the above mentioned volts (signal to the ECM).

You measure the voltage between black/yellow wire and the blue. You can also check the black/yellow to a good earth. A major variation would indicate a poor earth somewhere.

EFI systems develop all types of problems with bad earths.

I would be cleaning the Idle Stepper Motor, making sure it works by keyon/keyoff test.
Then check for vacuum leak. Manifold bolt tension, leaking hoses and gaskets.
