Sure why not?

Sounds like you still haven't bled all the air out. Bleeding brakes can be a prick of a job at the best of times, let alone when the calipers are dry/new. You'll probably go through a lot of fluid, and the only way to get it done properly is with two people and good technique. It can be quite frustrating but keep at it.

Thanks lx hatch how many times would you have to bleed the brakes to keep a firm brake pedal? The vt calipers have been rekitted with all new seals to and new brake hoses.

and forget that the VT setup is completely different to early birds. VT brake systems use a fast fill valving system in the master cylinder to allow the twin piston caliper to work properly. Even using a large or HDT style 1"master cylinder means you get a soggy pedal all the time as the pedal has to move further (despite the large master cyl) to fill the twin piston caliper. you get long pedal travel..or a soggy pedal ![]() solution..buy a VT master/booster modded for early birds lots sell ém to fix up those who got burnt.... have a look - Performance Brake Packages hth Smitty |

You can still get better than a sink to the floor pedal with a standard 1" master though surely? How does the fast fill valve work?
Bleeding those twin piston calipers always takes me forever, although I don't do it all that often, a pro would probably get it done quicker. The one on my HZ ute used VT calipers and that came up fine, currently working on the AU calipers for the Torana (Hoppers kit). The reason I mentioned bleeding is because it always gives me grief and I read what was written above as the extra push from the vacuum booster was sinking the pedal. It only has to be bled once to keep the pedal firm but it has to be done properly. Edit: the Commodore master is different to the HZ and Torana though too, so maybe there's something in that?
