Default VS 304 EFI into a WB 1 Tonner with TH400 Auto

Hi All

I thought I'd join up to this forum and share my experiences on trying to fit a VS 5L Efi 304 into my WB 1 Tonner

The current set up is a Red 308 (thats gotten a bit tired! ) ,with an Aussie-pattern block, matched to a TH400 Auto.
The Bellhousing of the TH400 has been drilled to match the Aussie pattern, not sure how this was done (eg : not sure if any of the old Turbo pattern holes were closed off/welded?), as I got some Bush mechanic out back of Langwarrin (far south-east Melbourne) to do the job and it has run fine since.

I'm hoping the box still has the Turbo holes open, but I guess there's only one way to find out!

As for the Vs 304 motor, its an impulse buy off ebay. The seller reckons its been rebuilt, and goes hard - but everyone who sells a V8 motor privately assures me they go hard . So once its in there I'll find out.

I've read some of the threads here and there and discovered that I'm going to have to ditch the VS computer in favour of the simpler VN computer.
Is this correct, or can I retain the VS one?

Also, does anyone know of any instructions/manuals for playing around with these computers?
Anyone with some experience in messing with these motors, please put in your comments!

Ok, well thats all for the time being. OVer the coming weeks, the ute is getting some rust cut out, a respray, the new motor and the ultimate aim (not sure if its at all possible) - a VT/VX Dash.

You can keep the VS ECU, you just need to get the Anti Theft (VATS) Disaables in the memcal.
