Default stoopid sellers

wanted a set of cragar S/S mags for my ute

so i rang up the "official" importers superformance for a price, $285 each trade, plus shipping

went my local mag retailer, he could source them for about $270 each, retail

so i rang superformance, told them that i could buy them retail for less than their wholesale ( i work in a tyre shop ) and was told " go ahead then, mate" in a very sarcastic manner

a bit of digging revealed AMERICAN REPUBLIC WHEELS, who could supply them for $185+gst+freight, $860 for the set, with new wheel studs and centre caps (at this stage, i had told them i worked for a tyre shop, but hadn't given them an ABN or works order, so i think anyone could negociate that price )

guess who got my pesos ???

when i was in the market for some drag tyres - i was after MT street radials and MT drag slicks - called up superformance and was shocked of the prices

ended up buying both pairs brand new off that marvellous website ebay - shows another customer not dealing with superformance

I find it incredible how cheap all of those prices are. I've done some shopping around here and can't get genuine S/S Cragars for less than around the NZ$500 mark (each). Considering they're made in the US (and its cheap enough to ship other stuff here) that's really weird - I wonder if the suppliers you contacted have different methods of getting them hence the price differences?

As the saying goes. " Everybody is ripping you off you just gotta find the guy ripping you off the least.

An ebay advertiser saying he can do pacemaker extractors 30% of retail price. His price was $680 not delivered. VPW price $600 delivered and Ill gaurantee there still making good money. Makes you wonder how some people sleep at night.
