Default 308 fuel pump Blue motor/Red motor?

Hi guys just a question about my fuel pump,
I've got a 308 blue motor and the f/pump just shat itself today, the only one i could get from the wreckers was one from a red motor.

Are they interchangable, Will it work?

    Cheers justin.

Allports is right, I put in a blue 253 that sat for 3 years and swapped both my 308 red oil and fuel pumps, if it runs it is pumping fuel, if the diapram has perished their will be no pressure. I would ring around for a new price as some new parts are really cheap. recently did rear brakes HQ. cylinders $10ea, pads drum $14pr. why would you bother reconditioning or exchanging.

I think the standard pumps you buy at repco, supercheap, etc are all 4 psi, I wish the were 7 psi, cause that would have saved me putting the electric on. The vk, vl , that came with the electric back up from the factory were about 7 psi

yeah? there is a different listing for blue motors and ive always been told that is because they were 7psi.

even for holden if u looked up a L34 torana fuel pump it superceded to a blue motor job

That fuel pressure difference only applies to genuine holden pumps. Anything aftermarket I think you will find is the same pressure, due to keeping manufacturing costs down.

I'm not sure about that 'cause the "goss" book at discount auto's had the different pressures in it.
The guy behind the counter was getting confused trying to get the right one.

It fits, bolts up and works. If you have a high performance motor it may be a problem but on a standard motor will not be an issue. If you are running the same size carby not Fuel Injection on the same size engine there is no problem. Besides the older one off the red motor should be able to be disassembled and rebuilt with new diaphram.

If you really want one off a blue motor this one is on EBAY now.
