Pavtek?
hey guys,
i have heard a bit about pavtek, but some good, some bad.
Anyone wanna give me some info? basically, the offer a 440hp VN Headed 355 stroker package for $5500, plus manifold and carby.. to me, that sounds mega cheap. Like i would struggle to put it together myself for that kinda money.
any feedback would be fantastic, good or bad, on the package, the shop etc.
thanks
Kane

There was a series of articles in Street Machine June-August 2005 about them setting up/building a Chev crate motor based on 'Precision International' parts (they gave it away). I guess imported stuff like that would legitimately explain the lower prices, I'm not sure how much magazine staff know about quality/workmanship.

i so wanted that motor fo rmy tonner when i had it. it woulda been awsome.
i think they said it could be built by yourself for about 10000 or less, and it was claime dto be around teh 500hp mark

yeah, they rekcon they can build 512hp stroker, less carby and manifold for around 10k
then there is an unassembled roller cammed 350 on ebay at the moment for 5800, making between 500-550hp lol

Pavtek did my heads. They also do a lot of maching work for my mates.
Have never had an issue with them. Every time they have been within the specfied tolerance - hard to find these days with some engine shops!

Pavtek
hi guys. i got a 355 built by pavtek. had a few probs with them like chewwing lobes out on the cam. but they replaced everything. make sure your engine is ran in properly before u start driving it. once every thing has settled in u can cain em. my vs gts makes 320rwkw and doesn't miss a beat n i drive it at 7000 rpm all the time.

is that a changeover price or outright ?
that's a damn cheap stroker, in fact I've heard of people paying that sort of money for a stock rebuild on a 5Lyou can't put a price on FUN

I've got one of these engines one of the roller rockers came loose, then broken valve spring and noisey lifters right from day one, said they will replace them but I had to take the engine back out for them as they said they don't work on cars just engines.
