Smile C4 Transmission ?

I recently purchased a C4 transmission purchased with the intent
of being driven primarily on the street, and on the odd occasion, thrashed
on the strip. Going into a 73 ZF Fairlane with a Clev. 393 stroker.
I just recieved an invoice for this box / 3 weeks later, with a note saying.
Warning: this box is a race transmission only, not intended for highway use.
1st gear must not be selected whilst vehicle is moving. My query is this, what would be the problem with driving this transmission on the highway for extended periods? As i intended to. I called the company who built this
transmission for me today to query them on the Warning note. But the
person i needed to speak with will not be back until next tuesday, and i need answers / cos I am a stresser. Any Trans. experts reading this with some input? Box consists of the following:
Vasco input shaft
Transbrake/Billet valve body/Reverse shift
Rollerised bearings
Kolene steels
Race steels/High gear
4 pinion billet planetary
Billet servo
Modified oil system and so on.
3800 Stall/4.11 Gears
Any input valued - Thanks...

No problem, just be careful not pull it back in to 1st over say 60 km/h bro.
most std auto's will not go in to 1st at speed over say 60 km/h, 1 to save the auto blowing up. 2 it can make the rear skid out of control bro.?

Default Downshifts

Sweet, what about going from 3rd to 2nd at say 80-100km/h.
I thought maybe it could be because of the line pressures causing
problems with clutches / something along those sought of lines.
Thanks for your reply.

if you don't mind me asking, who built the box for you and what sort of dollars are you looking at?

Cheers

Smile C4 Transmission

The box cost me $3850 plus delivery to Brisbane from Melbourne.
Total - $4015
Will handle 900HP in a 3500Lb car.
My car will weigh approx. 3900Lb, but i have a low 3500 stall
and the engine wont exceed 700HP.
I think any reputable trans. shop would be capable of building a good strong
C4, the C4s have been around along time.
I can email the name of the business that built my Transmission
if you like...

The say this as full manual valve bodies run 100% line pressure. Factory autos lower and raise the line pressure as needed.

IMO? I think it will be fine. Just as stated don't go into 1st while your moving. Otherwise you'll compression lock up.

I have a full manual auto in mine but it ain't a C4 and I've not had any issues nor done anything to it but add 500mls of oil in nearly 4 years now.
