Vaccum leaks are a common cause of engines dying when idling, quickest fix is to up the idle speed, or alternatively you could try to isolate and fix the vaccum leak though on 1990 and later falcons there is some much anti pollution crap attatched to the intake that's like trying to find a needle in a haystack, Or it could be the gas idle system is out of tune, 50/50 with that and a vaccum problem, i'd suggest taking it to a gas mechanic specifically and getting a tune done on the gas system and see if the problem persists... And WAIT while they do the work, stand at the door of the workshop from start to finish so they cant bullshit you about what they did or how long it took!
