Default Engine storage

what is the best way to store an engine? Its a efi 302 windsor and auto and im not sure how long it wil be out of the car. But most likely around a year.

Do i just fill it with oil and cover it an plastic? or will the oil ruin the seals after a while.
Also would it be ok to turn it over when its not hooked up properly?

Cheers
Karl

Spray it with inox and wrap it up. Turn it 90 degrees every couple of weeks. But be aware of a running engine left stored for an extended period can lose ring tension.
Btw spray it down the intake and in the plug holes ans into the exhaust ports as the exhaust valves and seats do tend to rust up. Dont be shy with the inox, it wont hurt anything.

If you're going to store it for extended periods (over 3 months), take off all the rocker gear so your valves close, that way your springs don't weaken on those valves that are held open by the cam. Fill it up with oil and hope for the best.

Inox is good stuff but TAC-2 from CRC in also an alternative. Works just as well ive found.
