    Default VE Brakes to HZ

Not sure if this is the right section?
Has anyone put Ap racing 4piston brakes off a VE on an Kinsgwood?
Is there a kit that will mount these?
Or is it all custom fab?

Do VE use a different offset disc to a VT-VZ?
does anyone know the difference between vt and ve brakes?

im not sure of exact details, but i do know VE use 14mm studs and vt-vz used 12mm
you would need a conversion hub and generally people either get their stub axles machined to suit
or get aftermarket spindles sometimes lowered ones too.... so you retain standard suspension geometry.

    master cylinder should be ok....

Yeah I have already spoken to hoppers. Sounds like they do some good work. The only concern I have with there brakes is purely the cosmetics, I want mine to say HSV and not PBR. I've just purchased a set of AP racing 4 spot calipers and discs off a VE Clubsport. I'm hoping hoppers can fit these as easily as they would VT brakes

    Progress Update:
    Recieved my hsv brakes.
Making brackets for calipers will be strait forward.
I'm using SHOWWHEELS Streeters and they come drilled out to 16mm, so they will suit 14mm studs.
    Front:
At this stage I'm planning on using a HQ-WB big brake hub to suit VT brakes.
Re-drill studs and install 14mm studs.
Machine centre hole in disc to fit vt hub.
Providing these will clear my rims, I cant see why this wont work

    Rear:
Re-drill axles to suit 14mm studs.
Machine centre hole on discs to suit axles.
As my diff has commodore ends on it, I have borrowed a commodore backing plate for measuring.
The problem I'm having is finding info on the VE handbrake set-up, as it is not the same in diameter as early commodore.
I'm goin to melbourne next week to have a look at a ve at a wrecker, this will give me an idea how to make my backing plate.

ROD TECH (82623230) in adelaide do a conversion kit.....ive just done what your doing this last week!!! (onto 9inch into hk prem)
the conversion kit comes with and including the VE internal hand brake set up, caliper mounts and spacers.

i had my axles made to suit VE stud, and the centre hole was made to suit VE also.
i am using HARROP VE ultimate kit (381mm fronts.....356mm rears)
brand new VE handbrakes set ups are a little hard to get a hold of because of pbr being licensed to GMH....

NOTE..... something that caught us out was the thickness of the mounting flange on the disc rotors hub.
we had to re-cut diff housing and trim axles to suit!!!!
if youve got standard VE rotors that are single piece then you might be ok, but my 2 piece rotors are twice as thick
    in the flange (6mm-12mm)

    hope thats helps a bit!!

have a look at my pix.....
