Default ms85 253

253 fitted to my ms85 crown super saloon.
still trying to get the remote oil filter to work, keep blowing the filter off the remote bracket, may have to modify the setup.
gas still to be setup as well.

that sounds to me like you've got it hooked up wrong

shouldn't the oil go through the filter before the pump?

Nice conversion! But yeah, something sounds really wrong with that remote oil filter setup - you shouldn't have any worries at all, I've never heard of anyone blowing oil filters clean off before!!! What happens exactly? I assume it's not just spinning off? If it blows right off, what happens to the threads?

If it was just spinning off, you could try fitting a large hose clamp around the filter so that it butts up against the block or sump, stopping it from rotating any further. But if it's blowing off, I reckon something is not quite right! I would double check and triple check to make sure all the hoses are around the right way. (I had a remote setup too on my Chev at one stage - every connection must go a certain way - ie. an "In" and "Out" from the block/oil pump end, and and "In" and "Out" at the remote mount too).

Let us know how you go, and good luck!

Cheers.

original 253 oil pump pumps the oil through the filter but has pressure relief incorporated into the pumps outer filter housing, will have to make a new plate that has this facility fitted.

You hit it on the head slidera, The pressure relief valve needs to be incorporated into the system somewhere!

Best of luck! Looks like a wicked conversion
