Default Wheel problems

Hi all, got a vibration going through the van. Got the wheels balanced and the guy found that one of the rims had a flat spot on it. I don't remember hitting anything more than a pot hole or a speed hump. Any reason that this would happen - sitting in the garage for an extended period? Also, is there any way to fix it? I live nothern subs of melb.
Cheers.

Depending on what sort of rim you can get them re rolled.
