i would epoxy prime panels then filler over that, i have epoxy primer then ill bog over that, then hi fill sand and then primer then paint, i would probably get some better quality filler than that, it might cost a bit more but you dont want filler blowing out after you have painted

Fuaaaaark man, you're tearing shit up with them flap discs... Don't use them AT ALL for paint stripping, they will completely **** your panels with gouges and divids. I used them on mine but that was only because mine was bogged to the shit house.
For stripping: Buy 2 tins of 3 Litre paint stripper, cake the shit out of it on the panels with a paint brush, it should bubble up stupid ways, if you're lucky it will come up like this

Scrape it off with a SCRAPER

Then buy 4 of these motherf*ckers, they will fit on a 5inch grinder, when you use them, DO NOT GET THE PANEL HOT, you'll warp the shit out of it then feel like a spastic haha
4 x 115mm 4.5" POLY STRIP DISC WHEEL CAR PAINT RUST REMOVAL CLEAN ANGLE GRINDER | eBay
Aaand then you will want to buy some 2k epoxy primer and a decent spray gun, search around your town for the best paint store, the one that will talk to you the most, give the best advice and generally be the most help.
But if you dont know how to paint, you might want to pay someone that does.. Best thing I can say is -Painting is much like welding, bogging, drawing, airbrushing and almost everything in life, it comes down to preparation, don't even think of putting paint on the car until you know every bit of dust, grease, sillicone, dirt or finger print has been cleaned off the panel.. You wouldn't build a house on dodgy foundations so don't even think of building a paint job on dodgy foundations.
So epoxy prime the car, then you will want to repair the dents, rust etc the proper way, (with a welder :P not just body filler)
Then high build the panels with this
UPOL 2.5 lt REFACE POLYESTER SPRAY FILLER KIT AUTOMOTIVE, CARS, TRUCKS PAINT | eBay
Then buy some of THESE, they're body filler applicators. Don't get them confused with scrapers, scrapers take layers off, these put layers on.
Body filler Applicators Flexible & Durable, Aussie Made | eBay
Then this for major sculpting
BODY FILLER UPOL FLYWEIGHT CARS, BOATS, BIKES, TRUCKS. RESTORATION 3 LITRE 3.75k | eBay
then go back to high filling, sanding, guide coating, sanding, high filling, guide coating, sanding.... that process is a long way away yet..
Check out my thread if you want, it shows pretty much every repair you can possibly do on a hq-wb wellbody Hz wellbody restoration, bulk rust repairs :/Last edited by leigh#42; 11-08-2012 at 04:06 AM.

Lose the grinder for removing paint. Either strip or buy a nice slow revving disc sander. use 12o grit to knock the paint back and AS SOON AS YOU START SEEING METAL COME THROUGH, go to 240. Then go to an orbital sander with 240.
And when paint stripping using chemical stripper, mask off a good 1" from the edges of panels and remove that edge later with the sander. Stops stripper ruining the finish behind the panel.
You'll have to hi fill those panels you hit with the grinder.A dodgey engine swap is not a modified vehicle. The job isn't done till the engineer approves it and the vehicle is registered.

Thanks for the feedback guys appreciate it, will have to pick up an orbit sander & use the paint stripper. The good thing is Ive still got 2 more panels I havent touched so will be nice to do those properly but will have to go and hi fill, sand back the others. Back to the drawing board!
