what hinges are you using for the bonnet now that you filled in the dints?
A minute of thinking can save hours of doing

I've tried it and they still work but we are going to use the factory hinges except in chrome, if u use factory hinges with the dints filled in, you have to make sure the bonnet and hinges are lined up perfectly and they will close with out hitting the inner guards with about 10ml to spare.

well on the front end stuff i used 120 grit, then 240, but using both of them on a pad with a buffing machine, and then used green cutting compound and then white cutting compound on a polishing machine and then just used some metal polish to bring out the shine.
ill throw up a couple of photo,s of the drop tank and catch cans and they were polished just with lots of elbow power using a metal polish but took me couple of days to do.
hope that helps you.
before photo of tank.

photo of tank after i finished polishing.

custom made oil catch cans.
