Love the thread. Great good quality work to. Great to see a few people opting for the BW diff. That what I'll put in mine with HX front stub axles so I can put vp etc brakes on it. Love all the pics of before and after. You'll have a great album!
I'll be watching it like many others to see how you attack things and go about it.
Great work
ZacIf it has Tits or Wheels it will cost you money!

Sweet fab work again buddy! Awesome job getting rid of all the nasty stuff, I'm guessing mine will look a lot like this when I get in to it...

Yeah I reckon most KTG's are gunna be nasty in places like that, gotta wonder about a lot of the nice ones getting around, whats under that paint ??

Zac, the Borg Warner is long gone, I'll be running a 9 inch, but only because I have to shorten the diff a fair bit. The BW is still a good choice, especially price wise.

Yeah I'm sure there are heaps of old cars like that! I've seen a few sweet looking cars with tell tale brown cracks and bubbles in the paint. My HK looks like it must have seen a few boat ramps, all the rust is in the rear but luckily the front and floor pan look great! Are you deleting the spare wheel hump?.. just running a flat bottom like the passenger's side?..

Yeah, the tubs mean theres no way a spare wheel is ever gunna make it back into that spot so yeah, the plan is to make it like the pasenger side. My HG Prem was used to launch the old bloke I bought it offs boat.......so it needs a new beaver and bottoms of rear 1/4's as well. At least I'll have some experience by the time I tackle that one.

You mean the part where I filled it in ?
Pipe was gunna need some serious re-routing to get past the tub so.......I'll put the filler in the boot, did it to the Monaro as well 20 odd years ago when it was the fad at the time. I like the look of the original filler and chrome splash plate but the fuel stains on the side of the old mans HK made up my mind.

Nah, the fuel would have to flow uphill to get into the tank. In the monaro I had the filler ounted to the inner framework on the passenger side, open the boot to fill up.

Could you just run a fuel cell? Or are the illegal in a street car??...

I think you have to have them engineered, the cab has to be totally sealed from the boot with a firewall, probably the same for a boot filler actually. Fuel cells dont really appeal to me, I want some range between servo's....
