Quick little update on the HQ.
I have a tailshaft in the car. I had a custom thick wall 3" shaft made up by Knox Driveshafts, using all 1350 Strange ends. Neat unit.
I have also received a few boxes of goodies from Summit. The fuel system is a good as complete. Sorry for the crappy Iphone pics:

I had to order a 2" high air cleaner as the 3" K&N hit the cowl scoop.
Here is the dummy set up ( i have a k&n 2" element on the way):

No real updates mate. Been working away in my new job and unfortunately the shed has been neglected. I am slowing getting my life into some sort of organisation and spent a bit of time in the shed this break, but no way near enough.
I am sorting out little things like oil pressure gauge fittings, alternator belt lengths etc. When I get my act together I have tee'd up with Chris from RaceWires to do a full rewire of the car. I just gotta tow it to Melbourne. After it's wired I should be able to fire it up.
Then next on the adjenda is a 6 point cage, 2 x Kirkey race seats (trimmed in olive green) and harnesses. I may even fabricate a parachute mount.
The build has slowed right down, but it's never forgotten. A bit hard to work on it in the Pilbara, but I can order parts on line

Here is a little update guys:
I have been messing around with oil pressure lines, and plugged the hole above the oil filter and decided to pick up the oil pressure from the plug next to the belhousing:

Also, sorting out annoying little problems like the alternator belt length:

I picked up a nice set of 15x5" chev rally wheels from our good mate 'Mumbo' at Chris Mills Performance in Perth. Need to get some tyres for it. Does anyone know off the top of their heads if I can run M/T sportsman front tyres with radials on the rear?

Paul, this is a Powermaster one wire alternator, mounted up fine, just a bit of messing around getting the correct length of belt due to the elec water pump. All good now after a few trips down to the shops.

He he. Good one mate. Just fitted up a VS 85amp alternator to mine last week as those EL fans were giving it curry. Keep us updated.
Also can't remember if you've built your exhaust yet but Mario has a couple of Dynomax super turbo 3in mufflers unused he is selling. I have same with new Dynomax resi's on mine if u need to hear them. Just built twin 3in stainless setup.Last edited by brownhj; 29-12-2012 at 10:26 PM.
