heres some photos of where the blinkers/reflectors used to be, it was my first time today welding pannels, i reckon it turned out ok , could get grinded photos becuase it was too dark, so ill get some tomorrow

i tryed to be careful of heat which i think worked, by moving around lots and not continuing welding until i could hold my hand on the close weldsLast edited by V6HQUTE; 23-04-2011 at 08:55 PM.

done, will be beated and highfilled, heat got it a bit, and dints lol, not a very go photo tho

Floor pans bare metaled and undercoated, thing in the middle is for gearstick and the original rubber seal around it, the top comes off incase it ever needs to, and to reinforce the floor, will be welding the bottom to where the floor crossmember was cut

Donor ute for back floor and tyre hanger

floor will be cut out roughly the size of the white bit because the back section is badly dinted, and the front is close to a crossmember to absorb a bit of heat when its welded, hopefully

Looking good mate, I wish that I could do everything you can do with welding etc.
What colour is it going???? (I don't mind the yellow that was on it)

its going to be white, very crisp, bright white, i wanted yellow, red, orange, ve commodore lime green, black, dad said no, but dads paying, and it will eventually be his ute so i could pick the colour as long as he likes it, white probally a bit more police friendly then yellow or red, ive got/had 3 yellow utes, now 2, and a like white, but bright and still stands out a bit lol
actually the green of your photo

staying in the family was the first condition, which is good because ill eventually get it back when dads too old to drive, and the second is if i wreck it i have to buy and rebuild a new ute to replace it, so being careful is the way to go
it was my grandfaters work ute on out family farm before that, and dads had a few wbs, ill keep driving it if dad tryies to give it to my little sister, i havent spent all this time for her to drive it

I'm probably 1/3 of the way through. Still need to get rust fixed, then paint. Need to finish rebuilding suspension. Fix up running gear. So basically I'm a long way from finishing....
I seen that you have a school based apprenticeship. I tried to get one at several mechanics shops, even went and did a weeks work with them to show them what I could do. But didn't get any. Anyway, I now go to TAFE doing automotive aswell as school.
