bloody hell thats a while hahaha. no idea about the rego on mine bit concerned really lol. all i no is the engine number doesnt match up with the car so i gotta get it cleared but need the rust fixed first. and its taken about 6 months just to do the rust in the cab and the front end haha. i wasnt quite as lucky as you to get it from a shed. but i guess mine didnt have a blown burnt out motor lol. not being mean hahaha

It is a pretty long time! hahaha Mine doesn't have the original engine in it, but here all you have to do is produce a 'receipt' of buying the car (that the new motor was in..) or the purchase of the motor itself..
Then they will just change the engine number in the RTA stuff..
Bugger, that is a long time for rust!
Hahahaha, their both challenges that will prepare us for further projects!
Cheers,
Matt

That sucks
Ohh well, if you buy a new one, make sure its better than the other one!! :P lol
Thats it, the more time you spend on it the better it is, and thats the way to do it in my opinion! Do it once, do it right!
I will have further projects later on, but I am for sure gonna have a run around car, because I am sick of walking
haha
Thats good, people are recognising that what you are doing is good work! Haha I'm helping a fulla that was in the year above me at school.. He just bought a HZ and he is after some parts and some advice on what to do to get it running better than it is now, so I'm gonna head out there sometime soon
Hahaha lol I would do the conversion you are doing, but it doesn't seem worth it because by the time it would be done I could have a mild/nice V8 in the ute already!! :P lolCheers,
Matt

yeah you are right v6HQUTE (dont no ya name haha) our stuff is all original or aftermarket original i guess you could say in some cases but at the same time they do still go threw the same shit as they will on yours. im happy with the motor and drivelines. but its the body and structual work what they really crack onto with old cars. thats where im stuck up sh*t creek without a paddle lol. im body is rough as and lots of work needed lol. and yeha by the sounds of it you guys should of just gone straight for the v8 convertion from the start haha. i would do that. but the only thing is the car isnt going to take me 4 years to get on the road lol. (its 4 years until i get my fulls i found out) so no v8 for a while.
but by the time im ready thinking about a 5L EFI but nbot sure at the moment. just want a v8 block on the engine stand i can start rebuuilding over the years haha

Hahaha, shoulda, woulda, coulda!! :P I wish that I had done the same thing and put a LS3/6spd in mine..
Progress is good!!
Myles is his name.. :P lol Fark, 4yrs until you get off your p's!!! That sucks heaps!!
I have the same idea, mine was meant to be on the road before now, and I was gonna have a V8 build underway and then that could go in after I get my full licence..
Again, it will be all done by me and a learning curve for me!
I only want 300rwhp from my first V8.. Then the extra power will come later!!
Cheers,
Matt

haha we are all in the same boat. we are all waiting for big $$$ to come in.
have found a nice 308 for sale for 300 thinking about buying it now and starting that build. if its finished before i get my fulls then i guess its going in an old shi**er for a while as a burnout car haha. but out of a 308. i will be happy with around 250. just enough to do what i want and tow the trailer. for a work car dont want much more haha. big power will come from a 350 or 400. and hopefully be running that in a torrana but there starting to become damn near imposible to find down here so may not happen. but first of all need to get the ute going weather to warm up for the paint and get off my P's without getting caught doing anything stupid again haha.

make sure the 308 is a blue or black motor(wb stato and commodores, probally vh/vk i think vb possibly vc are still red dont hold me to it tho) cant put red motors in wbs, might get away with it if your real lucky but its not worth it if they wont let you put your new motor in
