Great looking coupe V8 coupe man,
Just wondering what the rack and pinion set-up was that you sued for your coupe?
Was it a complete 'Blacks' bolt in unit or did you make it up yourself from parts?
Looking forwar to the end result. . .

hq2door, I was only able to get the RH side of the rear panel. Really lucky that the LH side was ok. Sorry.
TheBat, yeah it's one of Black's Racks. Not exactly a "bolt-in". Graeme's width was a little different to our subframe and we had to add spacers on the left and right rails and elongate the sway bar mount holes a fraction, but it did eventually bolt in. Could be that my subframe is at one end of manufacturing tolerances of the day and his was at the other. He has been great to deal with and I still recommend the product. It's engineer approved and, as far as I'm aware, he's the only guy in Australia doing power racks for HQ-WB.
Hope everyone had a great christmas day and that you all have safe new years.
Cheers

Awesome build up and that's some serious fab work too.
Well done, looking forward to the updates

Progress update.
Frustrating lack of progress over christmas and new year.
Fabricator is looking to relocate to a new, improved factory and his time has been occupied with things other than our car.
Was hoping to have pics of a finished boot floor today but no such luck.
Got onto the topic of how he was planning to move the coupe to the new factory and it really needs to be rolling at least by the end of this month. I don't fancy the idea of it going onto the back of a flat bed strapped on top of the table from Preston to Heidelberg, even though it's not that far.
I think this is achievable and I hope to have some more pics up soon, just a bit frustrated at the moment.
That's enough pissing and moaning for now, at least it's not under water. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to all in flood affected areas.
Cheers for now.

Oh, forgot, tried to get him to donate the upper rear quarters of the chev race truck for my centre console but he wouldn't go for it.
I'd like to try and get hold of left and right upper rear quarter panels off an old holden/chev ute/truck to make the left and right sides of the full-length console.
Just an idea at this stage, haven't really looked closely at what will work. HQ-WB has too sharp an angle, the chev's lines were perfect.
Just need to convince the owner of the truck that he needs fibreglass quarters!

Moving shop like that could take the best part of a month to get all the equipment relocated, positioned and functional?
Enough of the set backs. . . seems to be little projects started but incomplete all over the car, maybe some firm direction on the rolling gear needed for you?
Bloody Christmas. . . .bah, humbug.

Hey BAT
Point about unfinished jobs has been dealt with a while ago and the immediate priorities are getting the floor, fuel tanks and suspension finished.
I s'pose what I was getting at is that I just want it finished and there are things that are out of my control getting in the way.

Latest photos/progress report.
Work has been slow with school hols/parenting/looking for a new factory taking up time but boot floor has come along and exhaust tunnel is dummied up.

Had to laugh at the love heart shape the tunnel has without the exhaust in it!
Looks like there will be plenty of room for the fuel tanks, surge tank and pumps. Really glad to have been able to figure out a way to keep the fuel system on the outside of the cabin/boot.
There is even clearance to run a balance pipe between the tanks which I was really hoping for as it makes equalising the levels in the left and right tanks a heap simpler.
The right tank will feed the lift pump, surge tank and pressure pump while the left tank will take in the return fuel from the regulator.
Design on the air box is just about complete, pinching some ideas from circle track cars and a few vettes that I've seen photos of.

Will be interesting to see how the fuel system turns out. A lot of pre planning has to go into a build like this.
Keep up the good work
