T5 Gearbox Conversion
Got A T5 5speed Gearbox Out Of A V6 Commodore Vn And Was Wondering If Anybody Has Put Them Behind A Carby 308 Before.
I've Been Told That You Have To Buy A Bellhousing And That Also The Input Shaft Has To Be Shortened. Is This Correct? The Only Reason I Want To Use This Gearbox Is Because I Bought The Complete Car For $200 So That Is The Main Reason. If Anybody Could Shed Any Light On This Situation Would Be Greatly Appreciated.

im not entirely sure on this but i think that vk brocks had a t5 option. Try one of the commodore wreckers. When i bought my xe it had a t5 out of an xf in it and it was a bit sloppy so i replaced it with a t5 out of an ed falcon and there were a few differences between the two. bearings on the input shaft, one ws tapered bearings the other was roller. mounting for crossmember was also different. The case and input shaft length was the same though. im not sure if the t5s are the same between commys and falcons though.

Hey there, i'm not up on the technical stuff, but i have a vk brock commodore 308 with a 5 speed t5 gearbox. Verrrry smooth gearbox!!! Good luck with yours.
