Default UTE to 1 tonner

hi there guys, just wondering if any of you have any experience in converting a ute into a one tonner how easy is it? looking at converting a HJ ute to tonner... any ideas

I did just this a few years ago. Cut off the back and the panel behind the seats (extensive rust !!) A panel beater helped me out and it came out alright. The corners were not as rounded as a real tonner though but the flat rear firewall looked factory. I don't have any pics but it was in Performance Street Car about 12-15 years ago.

i'm keen to see it too, i've got a heap of psc mags from that time frame ,
any chance u remember what car is on the cover

I just went and dug it out..... Aug/Sep 1995. The cover is black with 3 prostreet cars on the cover. There is a good shot of the rear of the cab that will give you a fair idea of how it went together. It was a dual article with a mates ute as well, was called Horsepower Haulers or similar. Let me know if you find it.
