Default 5L injected into a HG ute

hi
im currently in the process of putting a 5L injected v8 out of a vn into and HG ute. i know a few people have done this so i was wondering what they have done for the engine mount brackets are there aftermarket ones to put on or do u just use the ones off the carbi 308's? do you have to buy a new sump so the lowest part is at the back? will the commadore extractors fit on past the steering box? and any other useful tips or hints cheers

yeah mate i've done the same thing its piss easy aye, use HQ mounts and 308 HG sump, you'll have to modifly the lower alt bracket so the alt clears the rail, the vn headers fit straight up no dramas i think even the y piece will go on with a bit of ****in around to clean the sump ,i think my thread is still on here somewhere its been a while since i been on here, hide the wiring if you can too comes up heaps better , i have since sold my old HG but thinkin bout puttin another 5ltr into a HQ soon its easy as any dramas give us a hoy mate

cheers dave

second that, im pretty sure the only time they ever changed the 308 block casting (besides the 304 size decrease) was in the vt, and all they changed was they made the lifter bores longer for roller lifters.
therefore almost everything is interchangeable if im correct
I know some crankshafts use a different rear main seal, other than that, zip.
(anyone that knows other wise please let us know, i would like to know too)

so if you use a block with a early engine number the injection all bolts straight up, and you will not have to (well "should not"... talk to your engineer) do any emissions stuff for engineering as you engine was manufactured before it was mandatory....
