Thumbs up What's possible in a corolla

hey eveyone, does anyone know how big a motor you'd be able to legally road register in a KE20 to KE25 (early 70's) era corolla? I can't stop day dreaming about putting my 308 in one after seeing that green 'rolla wagon with the V8 and shotgun scoop. Would it be a straight capacity to weight thing, or would it be at engineers discretion dependent on brake upgrades, etc?

Hahahaha wait till ya see the engine in scottys wagon now. Its very hard to get even a v6 engineered in a corolla let alone a 5ltr v8. Back in the day you could do it. There's an early ke20 on ebay with a 302 in it and its all engineered. I spoke to an engineer about mine and he said the biggest i could go was 3.4 ltr. Something to do with the tare weight x 4. Although one of scotty's( ke355) mates got a ke38 corolla wagon engineered with a v6 so i guess it all comes down to the engineers discretion.

Yeah, i figured that'd probably be the case, but i can't shake that image of the "ke355" 'rolla from my mind. "Oh what a feeling!" LOL. The new motor's supercharged isn't it? I think i saw a pic of it on here somewhere...

Yeah i forgot i posted a vid or pic of it. You gotta hear it idle, Its nuts. but yeah, i don't know 100% for sure but i'd imagine a 308 in a corolla would be a big no no. They're even clamping down on 5ltr's in lc/j toranas now.

And i thought that corolla would've gone hard, check this out, not a 'rolla and not a sleeper but it would be hell quick!
