Hi guys, I havnt been on here for quite a while due to starting a new importing business & travelling overseas.
Ok... plans have changed only slightly this time with the final plan approved by all involved & now making progress. As you already know, the VX sedan body shell has been replaced with a 2002 CV8 but the powerplant is still much the same 615 Chev/Dart as what is posted in the 'BBC Combo' thread with a few new upgrades; of which the main ones are the Master Power GT45's have now been replaced with 2 nice large Garrett GT6041's so I can head straight into the 3000+hp range, i'm now using the new 11 degree Big Chiefs instead of the older style 14 degree ones, a different ECU (preferred by the tuner) & a stronger transmission. While at this stage i'm still going to be using a 34.5 x 17 x 16 tyre the tubs have been made larger to house a 36" tall tyre if needed. I also splashed out while in California this April & purchased a moly rearend with the bigger Pro-Mod style swaybar setup & a moly steering column assembly. I was only going to use a 40 spline axle but have opted for a 40 spline gun drilled floater setup now so that when I bring the car to Aus I wont have any drama with your dragracing rules. The car is still remaining street registered & fully legal here so I can run the American World Street series if I can secure some sponsors. So there you have it, the latest update of what is happening with this thing. Now, sorry but I wont post any photos of the car until it's at the painted stage; at least it'll look like what it's supposed to.

Cheers AGGRO, as soon as it's painted i'll post photo's but i've promised the first magazine article to an NZ magazine so I dont want pics all over the internet just yet.
Our rules are slowly toughening up but there's loop holes in them for this sort of thing, it just wont be registered as a Holden Monaro because it's a scratch built car with it's slammer tube chassis. This build has taken forever but there's been many changes along the way, mainly due to me wanting more power so engine components have to be better... then it's a dominoe effect on the drivetrain; more power means better trans which is more $. Then obviously a better rearend was needed so more $ again. The turbo upgrade has cost the most but with the use of the GT6041 I can now make 3000-3200hp & still have more in reserve if I want to go completely stupid. I would like to run a very low 7 as a street-legal car then hopefully deep into the 6's with the weight out & slicks.
