t5 for the dyno.

Tremec if you plan on thrashing it forever and expect it to live.

A good Muncie should be a reasonable step up from a Supra 5 speed, just missing the highway cruising gear

X 2 on the tremec, for the same reasons. Will cost a fair bit more though than the muncie but. I have a tko600 in my car and its a bit of overkill atm for my engine till i build it, but i cant kill it.

The only Muncie to get that'll take a punishing is the M22 Rock-crusher; they're still not a super tough box when it comes to just beating them in burnout comps etc unless you get an M22. That's just my opinion based on what i've seen them go through in mates cars.

The WB ute I am building will be getting a T56 6 speed gearbox. All up conversion costs will probably exceed 10 big ones, so maybe it isn't the right option for you. Virtually indestructable box though...

I tried and sadly failed to find an overdrive Toploader. The "Orion" Toploader are a wide ratio 4 speed with 3rd gear replaced by an overdrive gear, and the 3/4 linkages were reversed. They look Slightly different to the standard Toploader but would be a superb cruising box if you want the longer legs on a smaller budget. IF you can find one, it will be cheap because pretty much everyone fitting them expected the close ratio and were disappointed. Speco or hurst still sell a new shifter kit for the Orion, too. Apparently there was a bloke here in Adelaide who scrapped about 20 of them because he couldn't sell them. Always the way: I'd swap my shiftkitted T700 for one tomorrow, but if I didn't just get on with it, the car'd still be in pieces today. Stay with the manual - automatics are for the disabled.

Tremec TKO600 will cost you about $2800. That's the best price I found when I looked around a year or two ago.
