Default 350 chev into HQ conversion costs

What would it cost (excluding the engine costs) to put a 350 chev into a HQ?

Would a trimatic with an adaptor be fine, or would it be best to change to a turbo trans?

personally i think the torque of a 350 will kill a tri. Others will disagree but a stock rebuilt t350 or 400 will be better placed behind it.

Apart from trans cost (either way, youve got to spend some dollars) hq350 mounts will get it in, or an adapter setup (im not sure if the factory jobbies are available but its no stress)

Move the starter wiring to the other side, again no big deal.

A new radiator or just top and bottom tanks if the cores good.

Im sure i missed something but in reality its a "cheap" job, not like some other conversions.

There is of course a case for stroking a 308 but a stock rebuild chev can be had for about 4k whereas a holden stroked will cost much more.

See what others add and go from there.
Good luck

Definitely get a turbo box, trying to retain the trimatic would be a waste of time and money. The engine mount adapters won't be that expensive, i think even rare spares sell them.

engine mount adaptors $80 from rare spares, engine mounts $30-$60 depending on where you buy from, then if you want extractors pacemakers are around $550-$600 or there is cheaper brands.

Thanks for the info.

A crate engine does look like a good option right now given the strong dollar.
