I really want to swap the Leaf suspension in the ass of my HQ ute to coil overs. Is there any tech sheets available for this at all? It runs a brand new 9inch which i dont want to f#%k up... Any info in regards to this conversion, and how to go about it would be much appreciated!

mate mcdonald brothers in melbourne do a full rear clip which also has the four link too. if you remove the leafs you will need to put ladder bars or a four link setup in aswell as the coilovers. no easy cheap way out unfortunately.
alternatively for advice and quotes call adicted performance and race cars in melbourne 03 97086232 his name is danko. tell him switched on auto elecs recommended you chat with him.

Ha mate I have a WB ute thats in need of the same set up. If you get any prices post them if you don't mined. I also am a custom fabricator so once I fined out what is in this set up I'll know if its a rip off or not.

Cheers
Twig.

Twig, no offence mate, but if your a "custom fabricator" i wouldnt have thought it be to hard for you to work it out yourself.

Also i would assume any major suspension changes would need to be engineer approved, maybe a good starting point would be to speak to an approved engineer first.

but here's a pic of the McDonald Bros setup.

The bare clip BTW is $500.00 to that you would need add a 4 link kit, prices start at $430.00 (these are McDonald's prices).

Edit: Twig, good to see your over on dragster.com you will/should get some helpful advice there.

None taken,

I build custom bikes, tanks and so on. This is my first V8 and my first car project so It's just a confidence thing. $500 for that clip seems like a good deal though there would be a few hours in that clip for sure. Ray from Mcdonald bro on another forum told me he's happy to send me the bits for me to put it toether. I think this seems like a good way to go. Should save on postage to as it will pack some what flat I should think.
