Default HQ MONARO 383/T400/9inch

Engine:

383 Stroker Chev High nickel 4-bolt 010 350 block, High Energy Sump, Eldelbrock High Flow Polished Water Pump, Double Row rollmaster Timing kit, Romac Balancer, crane gold roller rockers, Moroso Polished Alloy Rocker Covers, double valve springs, beam polished & shot peened rods, HPC Chrome Coated Victor Jr Manifold, 830dp Holley, 11" K&N Filter, MSD 6AL Igntion, Mallory Distributor, MSD Blaster 3 Ignition Coil

Gearbox:

Manual Valve Body T400, (unkown Stall Convertor)

Diff:

Ford 9 inch Disc Brake Holden Stud Pattern with 3.55 gears.

I wont bother posting all the build pics of engine etc but here is a video you will see it go from when i bought it July last year to how it sat when i finished in November last year:

YouTube - HQ MONARO VIDEO

I kept it registered for a few months did the odd drive and wedding, until March when i was given 6 defects, so i dereg the car.

I sold the pro stars because i really dislike them, plan to get convo pro's later.

I had a set of GTS rims painted in 2pac to original spec, and i am chucking some 205's redwalls on them, i know the 205's will look stupid with shortened diff but will do for now.

Since it has been off the road i have designed and purchased my fuel system, consitiing of a Holley Black pump witha 2nd Holley Blue pump for back up, -8 braided line, sumped fuel tank, and a shit load of russell fittings!

The fuel system will be installed this weekend so can update some pics then.

In near future i hope to:
Purchase & Install True Trak Diff with 3.9's
Purchase and install New convertor something that suits my current setup
Purchase and install reverse cowl scoop and paint, tossing up white stripes on the black but see what happens...

Then have alot more planned but that will do for now.

I am hoping for somewhere in 11's N/A and a 10 on GAS...

Some pics:

I love this coupe. One of my favourites. Man thats a few dollars in fittings!

How did you cop 6 defects within one month? What for?
Is it a racer only now?

Heaps of things, no mod plates, pollution, exhaust to loud, wheels/tyres blah blah...

Yea while its off the road i will do everything i need engine/fuel/diff/auto wise so it is 100% running and producing the numbers im happy with when that i done, i will pull it apart and paint and interior...

Just want to sort out the running gear side first.

So at this stage will not be registered before next year will trailor to the track a few times and go from there...

What do you need mod plates for? You dont need to comply with any pollution requirements and whats wrong with the wheels and tyres? Sounds like a dodgy defect.

Mod plates needed for Engine conversion, 9 inch Diff, rear disc brakes.
Wheels and tyres were not within the size limits of 30% between front and rear.

And the pollution i know beacuse the ADR came in 1st Jan 72 and my car is 10/71 build i argued but he wouldnt listen...

He has a reputation around the area that even if u fix the stuff when you present it again he pings you for other things, plus i dont have washer motor, horn, reverse lights etc....

So was easier to de-reg and work on it.

Unless your laws are different up there you shouldnt need one for engine - a 350 was an option on HQs. Diff and brakes... man this copper must be a hard ass.

So do you have to go and get EPA tested for the pollution? Thats crap!

Hey SUSPCT

Nice job on the coupe, not often you see one with a later model dash installed, did you fit it yourself ?

Keep up the good work
