Hey guys, im sick of going through clutch cables on my torana. Its got a tremec TKO600 with a 4000lb pressure plate. I just broke another cable tonight and i was wondering if anyone knows of where i can get one done, approx cost and what i need to do one. Or is it easier to just go auto?

aggro, i converted my old lx to hyd pedal and slave cyl , i had to weld a bracket to the top of the pedal to accept a pushrod for the master cyl which is mounted on angled bracket on the firewall ,mine was a muncie and i got out of it cheap

I had a similar set-up to that which was the CRS kit, it worked but the bracket and the angle that the master cylinder sat on was crap. Bleeding the system required the removal of the master cylinder from the bracket then use a rod to actuate the cylinder piston, not worth the effort or the money IMO.

I didn't change it over but mine has a Toyota 5 speed with Hadfield bell housing and bolt-on slave cylinder. The master is the HR style with a custom bracket - the bore is way too big but I just have the pushrod a long way up the pedal (just bolts through) so it doesn't push it too far. As LH says the angle is crap, but at least this master has a big enough reservoir that everything works ok in place. The clutch has good feel and I don't mind it at all. Don't go auto!

One option that I have been thinking about and it is similar to Mal Woods conversion is to use the VT Commo master cylinder with remote reservoir. The master cylinder is mounted inside the car on a bracket and reservoir in the engine bay. I haven't had a good look at this option yet but I think I am going to go this way.
