well boys and girls of adelaide............

its happening as we speak........

i stopped in at adelaide international raceway on the way past the other day
cos i saw some big machines,......and i got nosey!
went into the track and it is happening...............

they were profiling the track to be relayed within a week!!!!!!!!!!!
will be finished within 2 weeks..........
apparently there will be regular racing very soon!

I heard the new strip isnt even at air.

Dont get too excited, mr j tends to spend some money anytime a new track is mentioned (both sites as we speak) He has some measure of influence and the standard line would be something like "Why build a new track when we can just upgrade mine" After the competition withers away, so do the upgrades.

Good luck all the same! I spent a year working 40 minutes north of air, I wish the place was open while I was there, pt wakefield is the most boring place on earth!

The fate of this 'new strip' depends on what happens to AIR. If AIR is still going to open, there's no reason for the new strip... although methinks Adelaide could do with two

As a few people said to me when they heard about this, "Bob Jane is already on his deathbed now, he's possibly thinking he should give something back to the public".

If there's going to be drags during the winter, I'm there.

Exactly my point, Bobs timing as always is impeccable when it comes to upgrades. What do you think will happen once the possibilty of a competing track goes away. Back to square one.


Giving something back? Those "few people" obviously have no idea about what bob's "given" to the drag racing public in your state and mine. He didnt get rich by "giving back" and he wont start now.

Anyway enough of my whinging in someone elses thread, Since heathcotes slowed right down I havent had my fix and im getting edgy. lol.

Good news, I have heard a couple other things about air. Apparently the owner before bob jane ???? dont no who but he must be old was goin to buy it back. another one is that there will be street drags in september... But will believe it when i see an open sign for drags on the gate....
