Default exhaust pipe bypass valves?

not sure what these are actually called, they are a Y shaped looking pipe and they have an air actuated valve i think to bypass the airflow eg: with it closed you can dump the exhaust at the diff, and with it open you can run the exhaust gas out the tail pipes.... look something like this

http://www.vpw.com.au/productgroup.a...&PrdGrpID=2776

these arnt the ones im actually thinking or seen, but im sure someone knows what i might be trying to talk about

guess im looking for who makes them, and also would they be legal to use?

cause been wanting to dump the exhaust at the diff but instead of pulling the tailpipes on and off all the time i just wanna be able to just differ between the 2 "settings"

dumped at the diff normally for cruisin / havin fun / track....drive along see cop & need to quiet her down, flick a switch and run it out the tailpipes and more mufflers seems like a good idea in thery

I'm afraid they're not legal in Australia, 460. Maybe if you were in the US.

Anything is legal until you get caught but it's not just the boys in blue. The EPA are the ones you have to watch. Huge fines if you're caught.

those ones with the bolt on plate would be legal, wouldn't they Doc?

you can't operate them from the driver's seat or with the car moving, and I assume that is the issue
