Hi mate, Ok about your question.

As you would already be aware there are allot of variations of amethyst purple. In order to give you the exact flake you need i would have to see a sample of what you've got. and take it from there. I have 30 different coloured flakes and 2 crystals (smaller and different shaped flake) so with a sample i should be able to come up with something.

If you would like to contact us feel free to phone us or send us an email.

Have decided against going amythest purple in the engine bay, won't really show up flash.

Have decided just to go Jet black, and some violet/purple flakes.

Can you show me a range of your flakes from a dark purple to a light purple?

Thanks
Scott

I only have two shades of purple. i have a dark indigo flake and i have a deep purple flake.

I will get some pictures put up of the Deep Purple and see if i Can do a sample of the Dark Indogo for you.

However the Deep Purple is very popular and we have painted and powdercoated the engine bay inner guards and nose cone of our sample car in deep purple. 1972 Buick Centurian.

There are pictures of Deep purple flake over black in the Colour Tech Photos section. The Hinge is in direct sunlight. and then i have taken the inner guard in Artificial light and in shade. As you can see the colour changes in different lights.

yeah,im guessing it would be a lot less vibrant in an engine bay with not a lot of light?

them flakes are quiet full on,did you apply quiet thick coats of the flake in them guards?

as i'm trying to keep the engine bay dull but still purple and metallic. i think a samples gonna have to be good, how do i take a sample of the paint?

With powder coat it is easier to apply more flake because there is less room for error with powder coat. But i still used half a jar of flake on the entire engine bay and parts.

As for the sample well short of chipping some off lol you could take a descent photo and mail it to me. and i can see what i can do from there.

The Address is 43 Nobility Street Moolap 3221

and mail it to Colour Tech Coatings
