I know theres alot of you that will not like this but think about it, If mopar is on the hill with ford and holden then it will only make them better cos they will have to try to keep up 'whipped' . Give me some input, is this the way to go or would ford and holden try and stop it happening. What if there are fordens in the near future, who will race them?

i don't think V8 Supercars would let the Chrysler Corporation in, unless they made them run with teh same power plant as teh current cars, otherwise it would be unfair competition. but i would really like to see another nationally shown ATCC again like back in the 70's. using the original cars from the factory like with the LX and the XC's and so on

I agree that there needs to be anouther brand other than falcadores. only problem is the ford and holden under their shell are almost the same car. other than some slight differences in suspension and the obviouse body difference. Their gearbox, diff, electronics, brakes and a good amount of the power plant is shared between the 2. to throw a 3rd or 4th brand in there would just kill that brand 'cause they would need to lose all their own engineering and adopt the falcadore engineering.
a couple years ago they imported an AWD V8 magna, and tried to put that into the touring cars. Due to the awd and a couple other small things the magna slaughtered the falcadores. The touring car comitee complained and said it needed to be RWD and when the mitsu plant in adelaide closed down the magna idea was tossed in the bin. It would be great to see club sports Vs fpv's (or whatever ford has) but the touring cars have directly effected the later model production cars in a good way. I think if the race was reduced to production only then the production cars wouldn't evolve as fast as they do now. basically I think anouther brand would be good but wont happen ![]()

i think any V8 would be fine as long as they sold enough in Aus.
I wouldn't like to see something win the series that we can't see on the street every day. i do realise that the old 'race on Sunday, buy on Monday' is gone, but the intent must be there. i reckon the overseas models are far in advance of our own and ours will only improve with the competition. having said that, i would still prefer home grown

I reckon they're great just the way they are, its all about Holden vs Ford nothing else. Adding another manufacturer would be like adding a third boxer in a boxing match - it just wouldnt be the same. Although one thing i wouldnt mind is racing the stock road going versions (R8 vs FPV GT) - now that would be interesting.
