Default CL Valiant Power Steering Pump Adjustment

I have recently converted from manual to power steering - would like to know from anyone who knows the correct setting for the metering valve in the pump.

Currently the steering is extremely light.

Thanks
Glen

Yes mate, that would be appreciated - even if someone can just tell me what level the metering rod is set in the factory - I can just do the same.

Thanks
Glen

Sometimes you just need to look at the bright side- when you put your foot down and the backend starts swinging that light steer becomes a v8 (god given) gift. Theres a guy in Auckland that says for $800 he can stiffen the steering up, but he will not say how. If you are that keen ($800) to get it done then I will post his number.

the only problem i see with that is how is glenda here gunna get it done to his car if its all the way over in Brisbane and your bloke is in New Zealand(i'm assuming). and i think one way he might be able to do that is if you added a 16:1 (or higher) ratio steering box and modify it to take the powersteering pump or something along those lines, if that is even possible

Just to clarify the CL is actually my old man's. He left me with an exploded drawing of the power steering pump - he said there was an adjustable metering rod which he felt could be set to control flow rate, hence power steering load (meaning light/heavy).

Any of you guys familar with the internals of the power steering pump?

PS. Don't think my Dad is keen to spend $800 ... but any helpful info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
