Bit of a long shot but does anyone know of someone that had done a chop on a 53 - 54 Plymouth belvedere. Only reason I ask is I'm about to take 2 inches out of mine and I will need to chase up glass for the screen. Normally when we do a chop we will source glass from another car that is pretty close to what we need then modify the recess to accept the new glass. To save me hunting around auto salvage places with a template and tape measure I figured someone here might know a person that has done the mod and what glass they used.
Cheers. |

Give Roadrunner Windscreens a call, the guy there has a vast knowledge on this stuff.

depending on the fit, it could be as simple as getting a laminated screen and cutting some off the top.
and get that camera out and take some shots

We could cut some off the glass but with curved glass it becomes a little more complicated. You can crack 2 or 3 screens in the process before you get one right and that runs into many dollars as you can expect. Shall give roadrunner a call smally351 and thanks for the info

They will all seem like a big job if you group everything you need to do into one though process. Break them down into job lot's and the task ain't so bad. That's why there are so many unfinished projects around the country.....they look at the whole job and put it in the too hard basket.
It's just lot's of little jobs ![]() |

Have decided to use the existing glass and lay the windscreen down to give a more sleek look. Will remove the rear window completely, rework sheet metal to fill the section and cut an oval hole to fill with flat glass.
If anyone has rocker gear for a 440 chrysler, could you contact me as I'm trying to complete the motor for this project. Cheers |
