Default fuel probs?

well at the moment im just about to sell my valiant and then this happens.will idle, but sudden revs or even a little bit will stall it.was low on petrol so put in half tank of premo, checked both fuel bowls(had crap in it but got it all out,put two new fine filters in it not long ago),fiddled with the mixture screws with no change.as soon as i put it in gear(its a 3spd auto)it stalls.any suggestions what it could be?im hoping its just the carby.750 Holley.

it sounds like your accelerator pump circuit isn't working

did you get all the crap out of the acc pump port?
it may also have worked it's way into the passages or squirter.

not sure if you have D/P or vac sec, but the first issue will be in your primary bowl

not necessarily.

pull your squirter out and check that it's not blocked and see if you can squirt fuelout of the hole with the squirter removed. don't lose the weight under the squirter when you pump it.

also check the intake and outlet from the acc pump. then blow out the acc passage in the body and metering block

i don't know anyone who want a Valaint at all, mate.
it's a damn shame. most young ones haven't even heard of Valiants

my first car was a VC. i love them, but only got room for one project at the moment.
