Okay, I just wanted to be first post in this section

What motors did chrysler come out with, and of these which were hemis.

Just curious as i dont know too much about the range they came out with.
All i know of is the 245, 265 Hemi, 318 fireball and 360, But im sure theres a heap more.

start off with the old 225 slant six. originally designed as a truck motor and pulled like a 14 year old

then you have the 215, 245 and 265 hemi sixes

273, 318, 340 and 360 V8s

the big blocks are the ones you want
392 and 426 hemi.
there were also a lot of other hemi motors starting from the 354 way back when moses played fullback for the jeruseleum lions. the development of the hemi head was over a lot of years. i believe there were some oldsmobile ones, but i'm not sure if any parts were interchangable or not (this is a new one on me)

and then there's the non hemi V8s- 361, 383, 440 and a crapload of others in trucks.
chrysler has always played the options game with motor vehicles and did the same with engines. if parts can be interchanged or optioned, they probably did itin the factory
i've probably missed a heap that are noteworthy, but someone else will take up the slack, i'm sure

It was a monster of an engine. That's why they nicknamed it the 'elephant'. Obviously for one of the big yank tanks but I don't know what they fitted it to. I've only ever seen one and it was marinised for a speed boat.

a mate of mine has a 265 in a val ute that opened my eyes..... i'm not a big val fan but his beat me old vk which ran 11.9's so respect where its deserved

don't forget the 225ci slant 6, not a hemi and was fitted to aerly model vals prior th VF upto 1970, These were thechrysler 6 used in the states through to the late 80's I think,(as hemi 6's were only in Aussie Chryslers) they even used 4 of them to power russian tanks.

I've got a VF hardtop in the build at the moment with a 318 hemi and 904 torqueflite, great to see a section for the mopar boys

sorry wabbit, I should have read your post more thoroughly, didn't see you mentioned the slant.

I've had quite a few chryslers and the hemi 6's are real performers I had 2 centuras that were real ball tearers

i've seen a t/t 225 in a charger b4, all i can say is fark!!! that thing was a machine! Did the 440 come out as a magnum or something along thoes lines. I can remember an old chrysler with a 440 as a burnout car, last thing i heard of it it was gettin a cent. blower and water injection put on it

To add to wabbit's impressive list of motors, there's only one i could think of that he didn't mention & that is the "413 MAX Wedge", which i've heard were a factory option for the early 60's Dodge Pheonix's. Sounds pretty intimidating doesn't it. Oh and there was another variation of the 318 called the 318 poly motor, which was a semi-hemi
