Default Gas/carby issue - VF slant 6 - HELP

My car - recently reconditioned motor, running on gas wont start... well it starts fairly quickly, but then dies off straight away, like a carby issue it seems like. My mechanic had it for a couple of days... and thought it was a solanoid issue, not opening up in the cold due to limited power, so he ran a new power source and new solanoid, but this morning it didnt start again...

it goes...

reureureu vrrom *die*.. over and over...

after about 20 goes though it seems to warm up enough and starts.

anyone had this issue/know what it could be? i'm calling my mechanic later today, and i thought if we had somewhere to start it would save hours as it only has issues starting when cold.

Maybe needs a primer....
mine won't start without using it!!
Try pressing the button in the middle of your converter, if it has one, then start....If that works, you may need to add one to your system, 400HPONLPG will point you in the right direction!!

MMmmm....Yeh but is it a manual one you have to push, Coz if you wern't pushing the button the primer would be inactive....

I'm sure your mechanic will sort it.....

will find out tomorrow morning, but he seemed pretty stumped and out of ideas after he took off/changed a spring (not entirely sure) on the converter area

i'll have to check if its a manual or not, but i assume its right as he said it wouldnt be that

anyone have a pic of what a manual primer would look like? (dont have the car to check but can remember what it looked like)

Not sure what the actual mechanism looks like, but I have a Push button on my dash, i found it by accident.......(old owner didn't tell me)

When pressed I hear a destinct click from the engine bay, like a solenoid switching, If I don't press it, my car won't start for at least 4-5 attempts.....

It all depends on which convertor and what mixer you are using.
Your issue almost sounds like the safety switch is playing up or the ignition/coil is dropping the signal to the safety switch.
