Default What would a VE ute be worth???

Hi all,

My neighbour near Wodonga VIC has a VE Valiant ute with a factory V8 that he's looking at selling. It's red, has been shed stored and is not perfect but would need restoring. He's looking at a rough starting guide as to what these are worth nowadays? I know I have not given you a lot to go on (as I've never seen the car real close), but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

well, grampa used to say that somthing is only worth what some one is willing to offer, that being said with the info provided & with todays crazy market it could sell for $1500 upwards to the roof, dunno why because I have owned probly over 50 Vals over the years & dont think they are realy that good of a vehicle to comand todays crazy prices

Obviously most 40 year old utes are pretty haggered, not being perfect is pretty much a given.

Generally, VE's are the least sought after of the VE/VF/VG's though that will change. VE utes are purdy. VE's in general are purdy. If it's in a factory red and with a factory 318 then that is quite a unique car. I'd doubt too many utes came with the eights.

Needing loads of work but do-able and original - couple of grand.

Well looked after and complete and not buggered with? Who can say but if i had the money and all the car needed was to renew the rubbers and a few other things as well as a bit of paint down the line, i would't sniff at 8 -10 grand for a VE v8 ute because where are you going to find another one.

Pictures?

Went and saw him yesterday afternoon to get some pics, but someone had already stopped the day before and offered him $700 for the ute and he took it, it was a genuine 273ci V8 Wayfarer ute by the way, so I think someone scored a bargain!!

Cheers

Peter

FAAAAAAARRRRRRRRKKKKKKK That would be about 10% of what its worth, A good V8 wayfarer has got to be worth 7-10 Grand to the right person
